On the Tokaido shinkansen, the first overnight train ever ran.

Around 10 p.m. on August 9, it departed from Tokyo.

It stopped for six hours at a station along the way, then arrived in Kyoto and Osaka at 7 a.m. on the 10th.

The fare was 15,000 yen per person.

The tickets sold out in just two days.

The railway company says it will consider whether to keep running night trains.

Why six school grades, and not N5–N1?

Because that is how Japanese children learn to read. Japan's Ministry of Education fixes exactly which character belongs to which grade — so "grade 3" is a boundary you can verify, not a feeling. Every article here is machine-checked: if a single character sits above its grade, it is not published.

The result: you never hit a character you have not learned. That is the whole reason this product exists.
